What is Needed to Create a Static Illustration?

  • For a reproduction of printed material (e.g. textbook, pamphlet, etc), you will need to provide CLT with a copy of the written permission from the copyright holder to reproduce the image and post it in an online course.
  • For original artwork, first check to see if the image doesn't already exist in our clip art libraries.
  • When submitting a request for the creation of original clip art, you will need to provide all of the text and captions as well as a general idea of what you want to get across. The instructional technologist may expound upon your original idea to maximize your learning objectives.
  • For accessibility, you will also need to provide a brief description of what the illustration is trying to convey.
  • Use this downloadable worksheet to help organize your thoughts. The worksheet is in rich-text format (.rtf) and is compatible with most word processing software.
