Event Description: Join faculty and students from The Harry Van Arsdale Jr. School of Labor Studies as we host author, Glenn Adamson in a discussion of his book Craft: An American History. This acclaimed text frames craft as key to shaping America's identity- including its complex role as both a tool of and against oppression along the lines of race, class, gender and ethnicity. Adamson weaves disparate histories on American craft into one text- notably including a consideration of the skilled union trades and suggests the role craft might play in our collective future. .
