This year the Environmental/Adirondack Studies Residency is offering three scholarships to help students attend the residency who otherwise would not be financially able to do so.

The scholarships cover the residency fee(s) only. Students receiving the scholarship who enroll in one of the residency-based courses will have the $140 fee for room and board at the residency paid.

Scholarship students who enroll in one of the preresidency workshops on Oct. 10 must do so for credit to have the scholarship cover the fee ($55) for the preresidency session.

Eligibility Criteria for scholarships:
  • must be a matriculated student at Empire State College (including graduate students)
  • must enroll for one of the 4-credit residency-based courses
  • must have a recommendation from your mentor
  • must file a FAFSA form with the college financial aid office
Application procedure:
Send a letter of application to the residency e-mail address below in which you:
  • describe how attending the Environmental/Adirondack Studies Residency will enhance your education
  • explain your interest in the residency course you chose
  • include your name, address, phone number and student ID number
  • Ask your mentor to send a written recommendation via e-mail to the residency e-mail address by Aug. 26.
Deadline:
We must receive your e-mail application and your mentor recommendation by Aug. 26, 2011. (This deadline will give anyone not receiving the scholarship time to change their enrollment before the beginning of the fall term.)
