FINANCIAL INFORMATION FOR CANADIAN BORDER COMMUTER STUDENTS: 2010-2011- Academic Year


The Foreign Student Financial Statement is of extreme importance in considering your application and is required prior to any review of your application. U.S. Government regulation require that any prospective student must possess minimum financial resources in order to be admitted to a U.S. college or university.


Minimum Estimated Expenses for 1 term of full-time Undergraduate Study:
Costs represent one 15 week term. Border commuter students are allowed to study full-time on a part-time basis. All dollar amounts are in US dollars.

Full time study: $6700 plus fees
Part time study: $3400 plus fees

These cost estimates are considered the minimum amounts necessary. They are subject to change and any changes are likely to be increases. Empire State College – SUNY cannot take responsibility for any changes in the indicated figures. The international student liaison should be consulted prior to application, if desired.


Insurance
The State University of New York requires that any student who has entered the United States for study or research have health insurance. Please review the insurance requirements with the ISL. Students must have repatriation insurance on their own plan or they can purchase it from us.

Financial Aid
International students are expected to finance their cost of attending school in the United States. New York State and federal financial aid is not available to international students.
