Important Information for Students Attending the May (Summer) Term

Financial aid is awarded for the fall and spring terms. If you registered for the summer term, we will award your aid within two to three business days after your file is complete. You can refer to your account summary on MyESC (login required) to confirm that your aid is pending.

Summer loans are automatically determined based on the results of the current year's FAFSA if you have an entrance loan counseling form on file with Empire State College.

Summer Pell may be awarded based on the Expected Family Contribution of either the current academic year or the previous academic year, whichever would entitle the student to a higher award amount. Please keep in mind that valid FAFSA results for both years must be on file with the Financial Aid office in order for us to make this determination. Please also note that in order to be eligible for a higher Pell grant based of of the previous year's FAFSA, the student must have not received the maximum in Pell for that award year.
