FILM IN NEW YORK CITY
Studies in film range in focus from production skills to cinema studies. Applied skills may include screenwriting, cinematography (in film and digital video), editing, direction, sound design, animation, grant writing and production.
Cinema studies may focus on film history, analysis and theory, and diverse national cinemas.
Introductory studies in film arts and cinema studies are available for students new to film or simply looking to explore it as an interest.
We offer the opportunity to take your skills to the next level including graduate study.
Film studies utilizes New York City’s resources including:
Internships with filmmakers, film festivals, distributors, production companies, post-production facilities, film archives, sound designers and editors.
Through partnerships with many local and international film festivals, you can incorporate attendance at festivals, workshops and seminars into your studies.
