Course Description: Study modern Russia from the fall of Czarist Russia to the Bolsheviks and the rise and fall of the Soviet Union. Examine the current difficulties in creating a democratic society in Russia and become aware of the conditions facing the Russian citizenry in light of the Soviet legacy.
